Transitional furniture is the perfect blend, since it's not extreme either way. The two things it holds dear are comfort and functionality, which is what you want out of furniture anyway. Metal and glass, contemporary materials, are combined with solid hardwoods in cherry, a more traditional finish. Lush fabrics and modern shapes are upholstered as one. Curves and lines are integrated but they don't look overly formal. However, if it seems like a dining table is too severe, it probably belongs in a more contemporary setting. On the contrary, a dining table with heavily decorated feet and a mahogany finish is probably too traditional for your tastes.
Dining tables are meant to last for years and years, so choose wisely before settling on one. As versatile as they are a standout, dining tables appear in a variety of sizes, shapes and finishes. A contemporary dining room set, however, features clean lines, modern construction and a geometric outline that lends a quiet sophistication. Look for chairs that match, or that at least match the style of the table. They also usually come in a dark hue like espresso or black. While dark colors can overwhelm a room, in a dining room they are perfectly suited. You want your dining table to stand out, and dark hues, particularly against a lighter backdrop, will do exactly that.
At Wrought Iron Haven we have many customers asking about extra wide window treatments and how to go about designing for them. With today's window treatments in the market place, it is quite difficult to find wrought iron curtain rods that are longer than 130 inches. No matter where you look, they just are not being made today. This poses a problem for those beautiful homes with a lot of window area. So why can you not find these extra long curtain rods? Discussing this in length with a manufacture, we have come to realize that after a certain length the wrought iron starts to bend, even with a support.
